Clear Lake wrestlers traveled to Fort Dodge for a 15-team tournament Saturday, Dec. 17.
Two Lion grapplers earned placements against very tough competition.
Rhi Youmans (130) earned fourth place and Emery Hippen was sixth at 145.
“Even though a lot of the other girls had more experience, you can easily walk away feeling discouraged from a tournament like this. This only added fuel to the fire. The girls know where they need to be and this helped them realize that,” said Coach Ray McQueen. “I continue to remind them that we want to be at our absolute best by the time State comes around in February.”
The Lions have wrapped up the 2022 portion of their schedule. They will resume action on Jan. 2 at the Osage Tournament.
