Clear Lake to host Pink Out for Coaches vs. Cancer

Clear Lake will be one of several North Central Conference (NCC) schools hosting a Coaches vs. Cancer event on Friday, Jan. 20.

As part of the conference-wide event, fans can participate in a bucket run and three-point contest to support the event. One of the many people honored that evening will be IGHSAU administrator Lisa Brinkmeyer, who is currently battling brain cancer. Varsity girls will wear pink uniforms, pink socks, and players from the boys and girls teams will help create a “wall of hope” sign with players from Hampton Dumont. Players will share who they play for in the fight against cancer.

“The early support and donations prove this town knows how to rally for a great cause,” said Jen Eden. “The business community and residents have been rock stars as we approach Jan. 20.”

The public is encouraged to wear pink and attend the girls and boys basketball Coaches vs Cancer event on Jan. 20. The girls game begins at 6:15, followed by the boys at 7:45 p.m.
