With Drake Relays only days away, Clear Lake ran with a limited lineup at Forest City Tuesday, April 25. Still, the Lions placed second overall with 134.5 points.
Emersyn McGrath posted a personal record in the 100 meters. Her time of 13.09 was good for second place. Lydia Brattrud was also impressive in the sprints, placing second in the 200 in 27.77. Brattrud also placed third in the 400 in a season-best time of 1:05.57. Anna Feuerbach was fourth in a personal record off 1:06.37.
In distance events, Emily McLaughlin ran well in the 3000 and finished third with a personal record of 10:51.68.
The Shuttle Hurdle relay team with Pieper Lester, Mariposa Coleman, Payton McGrath and Josie Lester also set a personal record, finished second in a time of 1:14.28. Pieper Lester also set a personal record in the 400 hurdles with a time of 1:17.86 to place fourth.
The Lions’ 4×100 with Madison Leisure Reese Brownlee, Brattrud and Emersyn McGrath was a winner in 50.66.
Brattrud finished in a three-way tie for first place in the high jump by clearing 4’8”. Lily Lilliberg was runner-up in the long jump with a mark of 15’1.5”.
