Clear Lake’s girls tennis team competed in a pair of dual meets last week in preparation for the North Central Tennis Conference Tournament played in Waverly on Saturday.
Osage and Iowa Falls-Alden both swept the Lions, 9-0, in meets played Monday and Tuesday.
Paityn Enke, playing in the number four position, dropped hard-fought matches by scores of 5-8 and 6-8. Kara Ouverson, the Lions’ number six player, fell by a score of 4-8 in both meets.
At the NCTC Tournament, the Lions placed fifth behind Osage, Decorah, Waverly-Shell Rock and Charles City. Emma Allie, from Clear Lake, won her opening match against Osage, 6-4. The Lions’ record for the day was 51-189. Decorah won the team championship.
