The Clear Lake girls tennis team wrapped up the season last week.
On Wednesday, the team played in Decorah in the first round of Individual State Regionals. Macey Brant picked up 2-0 wins over opponents from Osage and Hampton-Dumont-CAL, but ended her quest for a State berth in an 0-2 loss to a Waverly-Shell Rock player.
Emma Allie lost to Aplington-Parkersburg, 0-2, and did not advance.
The doubles team of Paityn Enke and Lilly Rodriguez also lost 0-2 against A-P. Makayla Martin and Kara Ouverson also fell 0-2 against Dike-New Hartford.
On Monday, May 15, Clear Lake hosted the first round of Team State Regionals and faced off against Waverly-Shell Rock. The team lost, 0-5. Macey Brant, Emma Allie, Lilly Rodriquez, Paityn Enke and Makayla Martin were all topped, 0-2.
Coach Kate Mulder extended her congratulations to Clear Lake’s two seniors on the team, Varshini Rajendran and Kara Ouverson and thanked them for their leadership.
