Woman faces multiple charges including child endangerment

Jessica Ann Paulson, 37, of Mason City, was arrested for driving dangerously with a child in the vehicle.  She is facing charges of child endangerment, OWI – second offense, possession of marijuana – first offense; and possession of drug paraphernalia.  She was booked into the Cerro Gordo County Jail on $10,000 bond.

A report came through to law enforcement prior to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, June 7, of a woman passed out in a vehicle with a child present.  Witnesses testified that the woman, who was driving on Shorewood Way, in Clear Lake, was having trouble staying in her lane and almost went head-on into oncoming traffic.  After the woman was aroused by the witnesses, she proceeded to crash into one of their vehicles.

When officers arrived on the scene, Paulsen’s blood alcohol level was .184, over twice the legal limit.
