The Clear Lake City Hall administrative offices will begin their temporary relocation to the former TQ Technologies suite, located at the western corner of the Pritchard’s Innovation Center at One TeamQuest Way. The purpose for the move is to provide a safe and efficient place to conduct business while the current City Hall building is being remodeled and receives security upgrades.

“The architect did give his opinion that by relocating all of the facilities here and not having to go through multiple sequencing and staging of project construction purposes, and also for just overall general safety, this would translate into a much more favorable end situation for the City,” said City Administrator Scott Flory at the Sept. 11 City Council meeting.  It was estimated that not having to stage construction around the duties of city staff would save up to 15 percent of the construction total.

The cost of the lease is $4,000/month for seven office spaces and a lobby area that are not accessible from the rest of the Pritchard’s Innovation Center. The lease, which includes utilities and snow removal, would run from September 2023 -June 2024. City staff will be transitioning to this space over the course of the week and they plan to be fully operational at their temporary location by early October.

Bergland + Cram Architects reviewed the proposed remodeling plan with City Council members at the Aug. 21  meeting. The Council set Oct. 16 at 6 p.m. for the hearing and bid letting for the project at its Sept. 18 meeting.
