A Clear Lake man is facing up to eight years in jail after allegedly attacking a man and threatening them while holding a switchblade knife.
According to court records, Jonathan Wayne Coolidge, 36, of Clear Lake, has been booked into the Cerro Gordo County Jail on charges of going armed with intent, assault while displaying a dangerous weapon and being a person ineligible to carry dangerous weapons.
Court records state that around 3:50 p.m. on Oct. 3, Coolidge assaulted a man in the 1500 block of West 6th Ave. N. in Clear Lake. Investigators say Coolidge allegedly struck and kicked the man during the altercation and swung an open switchblade at him, and said things like, “I’m going to kill you.” The blade was later found by officers in the open position at the scene of the crime.
Coolidge was arrested on a warrant Wednesday, Oct. 4, and is being held on $25,000 bond. He was previously convicted of felony robbery in 2005.
