The Lions traveled to Clarion on Tuesday, Dec. 12 where they played a conference match-up against the Clarion-Goldfield-Dows Cowgirls.
The Lions added another conference win, defeating the Cowgirls 67-32 to improve to 4-2 overall this season and 3-0 in the North Central Conference.
The offense for the Lions came out hot and the defense stout.
Scoring 24 in the first quarter, while allowing no points to the Cowgirls, the Lions made a statement early. The Cowgirls found offense to put them on the board in the second and outscored Clear Lake 15-11.
Despite the push in the second, the Cowgirls were down 20 at halftime with the Lions up 35-15.
The second half saw the Lions continue to dominant, outscoring the Cowgirls 19-8 in the third and 13-9 in the fourth.
The Clear Lake offense was led by Maddi Ott who scored 17 points. Xada Johnson ended with 13 and Taylor Schwenn added 12.
Ott also led the team in rebounds with seven. Johnson led the team in steals with six.
The team had 21 steals on the night, 21 assists and 22 rebounds total.

It was another conference win for the Lion girls last Friday, Dec. 15, when Clear Lake defeated the St. Edmond Gaels, 48-22.
The Lions were led by Maddi Ott who had 21 points. Addie Doughan had 14 points on the offensive side of the ball.
Doughan was stingy on defense as well, recording a team high nine steals, as well as snagging six offensive rebounds.
The Lions jumped ahead of the Gaels early, 16-4, through the first quarter. By halftime, the Lions led 27-9.
Looking to be in good position starting the second half, the Lions continued to extend its lead, scoring 17 points in the third, while allowing six to the Gaels.
The fourth quarter saw the Lions able to rest the starters. The Gaels were able to close the gap slightly, but it wasn’t enough as the Lions cruised to a 48-22 victory. The Lions now sit at 4-0 in the North Central Conference and 5-2 on the season.
