The Clear Lake Lion girls traveled to Fort Dodge to compete in tournament play.
At 100 pounds, Avery Williams, of Clear Lake, fell to Chloe Sheffield, of Decorah, in the quarterfinals getting pinned in 1:18.
At 110 pounds, Saphira Olsen, of Clear Lake, defeated Laura Stohr, of Algona, by fall in 1:57.
Moving on to the semifinals, Olsen was defeated by Spencer’s Kailee Spencer in :43 seconds by pin.
Olsen placed third after defeating Grace Dvorak, of North Tama, by fall in 2:26.
Clear Lake’s Avenlee Ulrich wrestled at 115 pounds falling in the championship round to Ellie Adams, of Decorah, by fall, getting pinned in 1:09.
Ulrich also lost to Fort Dodge’s Kaitlynn Van Demark by a 6-2 decision.
At 125 pounds, Clear Lake’s Pieper Lester defeated Reece Logan, of Spirit Lake. Lester pinned her in 3:08.
Lester went on to defeat Spencer’s Breanna Johnson by a 6-4 decision in the semifinals before facing Preslee Dickman, of West Fork, in the first place match.
Lester was able to come out on top, pinning Dickman in 3:45 and brought home the gold.
At 130 pounds, Emma Allie fell in the quarterfinals to Abbe Gorham, of Algona, getting pinned after 2:48. Allie came back in the consolation bracket with a victory over Claire Weydert, of Humboldt, pinning her in :41 seconds.
The third place match, however, went to Spencer’s Kyiah Logan who pinned Allie in :58 seconds.
At 140 pounds, Cecilia Mattis, of Clear Lake, was pinned in :46 seconds by Decorah’s Amelia Wadsworth.
Mattis headed into consolation semifinals where she was pinned in 1:47 by Delaney O’Connor, of Fort Dodge.
Clear Lake’s Alexa Heflin started the day strong with a win over Ella Olson, of Humboldt, pinning her after a long 5:35. The semifinals saw Heflin defeated by a close 5-4 decision by Julie Maylum, of Perry.
Heflin would head into the third place match and defeat Lucy Porter, of Fort Dodge, pinning her in 1:40 to take third overall.
Gracey Smith, of Clear Lake, went the distance and then some against Emmets-burg’s Kylie Iverson.
Going into sudden victory, Smith lost by a 5-4 decision.
Smith got the victory over Jenny Ramirez, of West Fork, in consolation semifinals with a pin in 3:34.
At 170 pounds, Kayma Burleson, of Clear Lake, defeated Fernanda Ramirez, of West Fork, by pin in 3:54.
Burleson was then defeated by North Tama’s Briar Blake by fall in 3:25 and then again in the consolation match by Algona’s Reagan Haynes by a 6-4 decision.
Burleson would go home with a fifth place finish after defeating Ramirez a second time pinning her in 1:42.
Kendra Kruckenberg, of Clear Lake, was pinned by Mason City’s Taryn Boehmer in 2:32 before defeating Emmetsburg’s Hailey Bailey by a 6-2 decision.
Kruckenberg lost in the fifth round match up to West Fork’s Maren Subbert by fall in 3:31.
