Cerro Gordo County Sheriff Kevin Pals announced that he will not be running for re-election. Sheriff Pals will be retiring at the end of his current term, Dec. 31, 2024.
“I would like to thank the many dedicated men and women who have served, and who continue to serve Cerro Gordo County,” said Sheriff Pals. “There are no words that I can say to show the appreciation I have for the support and prayers for the past 23 years. It has been an honor and pleasure to serve the citizens of Cerro Gordo County.”
Before being elected sheriff in 2000, Pals has been a member of the Mason City Police Department for 18 years. Pals took the office of Sheriff in January 2021.
