Thomas sets NIACC track & field records in Kansas

The North Iowa Area Community College (NIACC) Trojan track and field team traveled to Emporia, Kan. to compete in the Emporia State Relays last Thursday.

The Trojans placed 13th overall where Terrence Thomas, of Antigua and Barbuda, set two school records in the long jump and triple jump.

His 7.39 meters (24 feet, three inches) won the long jump and his 14.56 meters (47 feet, 9.25 inches) was good for third in the triple jump.

The Trojans also saw freshman Quinton Ellis, of Nassau, Bahamas, place third in the 400 meter dash in a time of 48.16 seconds, ranking second all-time on NIACC’s outdoor 400 list.

Ellis is also one of four Trojans ever to run sub-50 seconds in the 400.
