Clear Lake High School hosted nine 3A schools for the Solo/Ensemble Division I Band Contest on Saturday, March 23.
Clear Lake had 12 soloists and 13 ensembles perform at the event.
Those who received Division I ratings were: Mia Lockwood, tuba solo (perfect score and Outstanding Performance); Lauren Jurgens, Flute Solo; Owen Smith, Piano Solo (perfect score); Anna Lloyd and Mia Lockwood, Low Brass Duet; Emily McLaughlin and Meredith McKenna, Alto Saxophone Duet, Flute Choir; Lexi Nedved and Salem Mock, Trombone Duet, Euphonium Quartet; Anna Ravera and Madeline McLaughlin, Tenor Saxophone Duet; Harper Boyle and Cecilia Clark, Mixed Brass Duet, Clarinet Ensemble.
“This was a very large contest and we had over 100 volunteers from the music department and the community that helped,” said Holly Prier, CLHS band instructor.
