The Kinney Pioneer Museum is proud to announce the appointment of Faith Lawler as its new Director. With her diverse background in art history, nonprofit leadership, and museum studies, Lawler brings a wealth of experience and a fresh perspective to her role.
Lawler’s journey in the realm of art, history, and culture began with her Bachelor of Arts degree in Art History from the University of Northern Iowa. Throughout her undergraduate years, she demonstrated a deep commitment to her studies, evolving from a volunteer to the Gallery Director’s Assistant at the UNI Gallery of Art.
Recognizing the significance of leadership within the nonprofit sector, Lawler pursued a certificate in Nonprofit Leadership, equipping herself with skills in programming, fiscal management, and ethical leadership. Her dedication to museum work led her to earn a Museum Studies Certificate, solidifying her expertise in curatorial practices, exhibition design, and cultural heritage preservation.
As the newly appointed Director of the Kinney Pioneer Museum, Lawler is poised to lead the organization into a dynamic future. Her vision encompasses fostering community engagement, embracing innovative exhibition designs, and ensuring the museum remains a vibrant center for cultural exploration.
The 2024 season at the Kinney Pioneer Museum promises an array of exciting programming opportunities. From Historical Tea Parties featuring period clothing and discussions on historical tools, to square dance instructions by professional callers, and culminating in a Fall Festival dance, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Special day events throughout the summer will
celebrate the rich culture and history of North Central Iowa.
