Clear Lake 1
The Lion boys soccer team hosted the Iowa Falls-Alden Cadets last Thursday, April 4.
The Cadets were able to score two goals in the first period, putting the Lions in a deficit.
The Lions were able to score late in the second period on an Andrew Korenberg goal to make the game 2-1 in favor of the Cadets.
Iowa Falls-Alden was able to put the game away with a third goal, 3-1. The Lions dropped to 0-2 on the season.
The Lions had 17 shots with 12 on goal and had one penalty kick in the contest.
Goalie Caleb Hall had 11 saves on the night.
Korenberg, scoring the Lions only goal, had five shots on the night with four on goal.
Adrian Ros had one assist and two shots, both on goal.
Kinnick Clabaugh also had two shots on the night.
Marcelino Herreguin had four shots, all of which were on goal.
The Cadets goalie, Logan Mourlam, was a wall with 14 saves and one goal allowed.

New Hampton 0
Closing out last week, the Lions hosted the New Hampton Chickasaws achieving their first win of the season.
Putting up three goals in the first period, the Lions were only getting warmed up as Korenberg scored five total goals on 10 shots, eight of which were on goal.
Overall, the team saw 30 shots, 18 on goal.
The second period saw the Lions score seven on the Chickasaws to put the Lions at a 1-2 record on the seaosn.
Adrian Ros scored three goals for the Lions, while Colby Archer and Jeseb Prestholt each had one.
Hall was back in the goal and had three saves on the night.

The Lions hosted the Garner-Hayfield-Ventura Cardinals Monday, April 8, and came away with a 4-2 win to move to a 3-2 record on the season.
The Cardinals took an early lead as AJ Fuentes scored the first goal of the game. Clear Lake’s Andrew Korenberg scored off a penalty kick 28 minutes into the first period to knot the score.
Heading into the second half, it was a new game for the Lions and Cardinals.
Adrian Ros scored early in the second to put Clear Lake ahead before Kinnick Clabaugh gave the Lions the 3-1 cushion.
Zaden Martinez added a goal for the Lions and it was 4-1 with 23 minutes left in the game.
The Cardinals scored their final point with three minutes to go and was unable to rally against the Lions.
