Lion boys soccer falls to Bulldogs

The Clear Lake Lion boys soccer team fell in a North Central Conference match-up with the Hampton-Dumont-CAL Bulldogs last week in a game that went 7-1.

The Lions fell behind early with the Bulldogs scoring two in the first half while Clear Lake looked for its first goal.

Hampton-Dumont-CAL scored five more in the second half to increase their lead over the Lions despite Clear Lake finding only one goal.

The single goal from the Lions came from Andrew Korenberg who had three shots on goal on the night.

The Lion goalie, Caleb Hall, had 11 saves on the night but allowed seven to get by.

The Bulldogs keeper, Jose Aragon Mnedez Jr, had 17 saves on the night and allowed one.

 

Webster City 5

Clear Lake 0

The Lions traveled to Webster City to face the 5-0 Lynx on Monday, April 22.

It was a tough outing for Clear Lake, falling to 4-6 on the season after a 5-0 victory by Webster City.

The Lions allowed two goals early and were unable to recover later in the contest as the Lynx found five more goals against Clear Lake in the second half.

The Lions had six shots on goal that were saved by the Lynx goalie, while Webster City had 22 shots and 14 shots on goal against the Lions.
