Lion girls tennis earns first victory but fall to Osage Monday

The Clear Lake Lion girls tennis squad won its first meet of the season to improve to 1-4 against the Hampton-Dumont-CAL Bulldogs.

The Lions won all nine matches against the Bulldogs.

Scores for the Lions were: Macey Brant, 8-4; Lillianna Rodriguez, 8-3; Makayla Martin, 8-0; Paityn Enke, 8-1; Ashley Roberts, 8-1; and MaKenna Jackson, 8-2.

In doubles, the Lions saw Brant and Martin win, 8-4; Enke and Roberts, 8-0; and Jackson and Smith, 8-4.

The Lion girls took to the court Monday, April 22, hosting the Osage Green Devils.

It was a windy day for both teams, but they persevered to get the match in.

The Lions fell 7-2 to the Green Devils.  Bringing their record to 1-5 on the season.

In singles play, the Lions saw one win from Ashley Roberts against Marley Kerrick. It was a close 8-7 victory for Roberts.

In doubles, Roberts was once again in the win column, with partner Paityn Enke. They won 8-8 with a 7-4 extra.

Also for Clear Lake: Macey Brant lost 8-6, Lillianna Rodriguez lost 8-1, Makayla Martin lost 8-5, Enke lost 8-5 and Gracey Smith lost 8-4.

In doubles: Brant and Martin lost 8-3, Smith and Lauryn Coleman lost 8-0.
