The Clear Lake Police Department welcomed Officer Brendan Gray in August 2023. Gray attended and graduated from the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy in December 2023. Gray was hired to fill an open position and was “sworn-in” by Mayor Crabb at the Jan. 2 Clear Lake City Council Meeting. Officer Gray was raised in the Nora Springs and Charles City area. Gray attended Central Springs High School and graduated in 2018. Gray attended NIACC, majoring in Criminal Justice.
Officer Gray is also a member of the Iowa National Guard is a Motor Vehicle Operator for the 1133rd Transportation Company in Mason City. During his time off you may catch Officer Gray in a local gym training as a competitive powerlifter.
“I am really excited for the opportunity to get to serve the City of Clear Lake and become involved in the community,” said Gray.
Officer Gray was certified for solo patrol on April 1, 2024 and has been assigned to the overnight shift.
