Clear Lake JV softball drops two games

West Fork JV scored 2 runs in the top of the first inning, 1 run in the 4th inning, and 5 runs in the 5th inning.  

Clear Lake scored 1 run in the first inning and 1 run in the 3rd inning.  Lions getting hits in the game were Madaline McLaughlin and Makyla Johnson, each with a single. McLaughlin and Johnson each had a run scored as well.  

Makyla Johnson pitched the first four innings for the Lions and recorded 5 strikeouts. Ava Kappmeyer pitched the fifth inning and recorded 2 strikeouts.  

“Outside of West Fork’s one big inning, we played a tight game,” said coach Josi Thompson. “We have to cut down on our strikeouts.  This team works hard in practice, so I know our hitting will improve as the season progresses.”

Waverly scored 2 runs in the 2nd inning, 5 runs in the 3rd inning, and 2 runs in the 4th inning. 

Clear Lake scored 2 runs in the first inning

Makyla Johnson and Avery Puttmann each had a run scored in the game.  Puttmann also had a stolen base.  Sydney Johnstone and Makyla Johnson each had a single.  

Alivia Paine pitched the JV game and recorded 1 strikeout.
