The Clear Lake Athletics and Wellness Center sent 45 participants to the Live Healthy Iowa Youth State Meet, held in Marshalltown on June 1. Youth athletes qualified to go to the state meet by earning 1st or 2nd place at the local track meet held at Lions Field on May 11.
“We are so excited about our youth track program, and hope it continues to grow,” said Wellness Center Assistant Director Tiffany Townsend.
The following are some of the top results from the state meet:
Shaelyn Laube took 3rd place in the Softball Throw in the 7-8 year-old age category.
Elyn Nedved took 1st place in the Softball Throw in the 13-14 year-old age category.
Ella Jones took 3rd place in the Standing Long Jump in the 9-10 year-old age category.
Kendall Riser took 2nd place in 50 M Dash in the 7-8 year-old age category. Skyler Riser took 1st place in the 50 M Dash in the 9-10 year-old age category.
Aria Hennigar took 1st place in the 100 M Dash in the 7-8 year-old age category and Kendall Riser took 2nd place.
Jensyn McIntire took 2nd place in the 100 M Dash in the 9-10-year-old age category.
Drake Tysdahl took 3rd place in 100 M Dash in the 11-12 year-old age category.
Aria Hennigar took 1st place in the 200 M Dash in the 7-8 year-old age category.
Jensyn McIntire took 2nd place in the 200 M Dash in the 9-10 year-old age category.
Savery Miller took 3rd place in the 200 M Dash in the 13-14 year-old age category and took 1st place in the 400 M.
Kylie Trask took 2nd place in the 800 M in the 9-10 year-old age category.
Ruger Hill took 1st place in the 800 M in the 11-12 year-old age category with time of 2:54:42.
Maxton Doughan took 3rd place in the same race.
Owen Cooper took 2nd place in the 1600 M in the 11-12 year-old age category and Addilyn Hedrick took 3rd place.
Tate Tysdahl took 1st place in the 1600 M in the 13-14 year-old age category with a time of 5:29:98.
