The Fourth of July festivities will once again feature a carnival as Evans United Shows returns for their 51st year at Clear Lake.
Alongside the lake fireworks, the live music and parade, the main attraction during Clear Lake’s Fourth of July Celebration is the Evans United Shows carnival. And though last year was the big milestone, this year is just as exciting.
“We’re counting the days,” Pat Cates, office manager for Evans United, said. “It’s everybody’s favorite and we truly look forward to it every year.”
While most of their new additions are still stuck in development, their newest and fan favorite ride “Jumping Jumbos”, a carousel of flying elephants, is making a return this year. Classic rides like the Ferris wheel, dragon teacups and Sea Ray.
“That’s what happens with these rides,” Cates said. “You order one and don’t see them in three years.”
But not to worry, the carnival will still features dozens of rides, games and food for all to enjoy. The carnival will be running all five days of the celebration, starting at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 3, and then at noon the following four days, with wristband day ($25 from noon – 5 p.m.) on Friday and Sunday.
