The Lions hosted their North Central Conference rival Algona Bulldogs on Tuesday, Dec. 19, and came out on top after a seven point victory. Keeping the Lions on top of the confer-ence standings.
The Lions fell behind early in the contest as Algona jumped to an 18-10 lead after the initial eight minutes ran off the clock.
The second quarter saw the Lions close the gap, but they still trailed by one headed into halftime, but momentum had shifted in favor of the Lions.
The third quarter saw the Lions move in front of the Bulldogs by three points. A big 21 point fourth quarter saw the Lions take another come from behind victory.
Leading the team was Thomas Meyer with 18 points. Gavin Anderson recorded 13 and Dylan Litzel scored 12. Cael Stephany and Titan Schmitt both scored 10 to round out the double digit scorers for the Lions.
Litzel led the team in rebounds with eight, including six on defense. Anderson led the team in steals with three.
Schmitt led the team in assists with six.

The Lions continued their winning ways with a victory over the Forest City Indians to improve to 7-0 on the season.
The Lions jumped ahead early, leading 11-7. The lead continued in the second quarter as they outscored the Indians 19-11 to lead at halftime, 30-18.
After halftime, the Indians were looking dangerous as they continued to close the gap, but the Lions found ways to stay ahead. Clear Lake led by 19 after the third quarter.
The fourth quarter saw Forest City mount a rally that fell short by 11 points as they held the Lion offense to only four points, while scoring 12 themselves.
The Lion offense was led by Thomas Meyer with 12 points, Trevor Theobald with nine and Cael Stephany with eight.
Stephany also led the team in steals with four, while Titan Schmitt led the team in assists with eight. Meyer, Schmitt and Dylan Litzel all led the team in rebounds with five each.
The Lions head into the break with a record of 7-0 and sit atop the North Central Conference before coming back from break on Jan. 5 against Iowa Falls-Alden.
