Girls wrestling Super Regionals took place across the state on Friday, Jan. 26, but Clear Lake was fortunate enough to stay close to home.
Heading to Super Regional Qualifier 7, the Lions only traveled down the road to Mason City where they competed for a spot in Coralville at the Girls Wrestling State Tournament.
It was a long day of wrestling with over 20 schools there to compete and nearly 12 hours of wrestling to be had at Mason City High School, which was filled to the brim with fans cheering on their favorite wrestlers.
It was no easy task for any of the girls across the state, as girls of all classes were competing with one another. Clear Lake proved to be up to the task.
The Lions battled hard throughout the day and once the dust settled four Lion grapplers were standing on the podium and headed to Coralville for the second ever Iowa High School State Wrestling Tournament.
