Lion girls T&F finish third at Hampton

The Clear Lake Lion girls Track & Field team traveled to Hampton last Thursday where they finished third to Saint Ansgar (1st) and Denver (2nd).

The Lions saw a handful of top three finishes throughout the event.

In individual races, the Lions saw a first and second place finish.

Reese Brownlee took first place in the 100 meter dash, running a time of 12.65, which was also a personal best.

Addie Doughan finished second in the 1500 meter run, on the heels of Nashua-Plainfield’s Kadence Huck. Doughan finished with a time of 4:58.67, while Huck had a time of 4:58.46.

The relay events saw success for the Lions as well.

The 4×200 relay team of Maddie Leisure, Lydia Brattrud, Lauren Englin and Emersyn McGrath finished second overall to Denver with a time of 1:54.4.

The 4×800 team that consisted of Rebekah Steinbron, Saylor Schmitt, Jezzie Thompson and Anna Feuerbach took second with a time of 11:08.97.

Dike-New Hartford scorched the competition with a time of 10:42.19 and looks to be the team to beat.

In the field, Taylor Schwenn earned a third place finish in the shot put with a throw of 35-10.5 which was a personal best for the Clear Lake freshman.
