The Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office responded to a two vehicle collision with personal injury, on Friday, April 12, at 12:31 p.m., in the 17000 block of Lark Ave.
Connie Jo Pavelka, 69, of Britt, was driving a 2022 Blue Chevrolet Equinox southbound in the 17000 block of Lark Ave. when she was rear ended by Michaela Catherine Cleveland, 27, or Forest City, who was driving a 2012 White Chevrolet Traverse.
Pavelka was slowing down for a rough railroad crossing, with a suggested speed of 20 mph, when she was hit from behind by Cleveland. Cleveland had momentarily taken her eyes off the roadway and as she looked back she collided with Pavelka’s vehicle.
Pavelka was transported to Mercy One North Iowa by Mason City Fire Medics with suspected minor injuries.
The Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Mason City Fire Department and the Clear Lake Fire Department.
