It was another track meet win for the Clear Lake Lion boys on April 23 in Osage, making this the fifth of the season.
“We’ve really only loaded up the lineup a couple times,” said coach Tyler Havens. “It’s great to have other objectives with a lineup and still come out on top because we just have quality guys all around.”
The team had a handful of top performances in Osage, including another run with the 4×100 team before running at Drake on Saturday morning.
The 4×100 team of Blake Enke, Titan Schmitt, Sam Dodge and Alex Kerr won in Osage with a time of 47.91. At Drake, the Lions shaved off over four seconds to finish with a time of 43.35.
The 4×200 team of Isaac Brownlee, Drayce Dohlman, Bradyn Watkins and Tyler LeFevre finished first in a time of 1:36.57.
“The sticks looked pretty good,” said coach Havens. “We were also able to get the win in the 4×2 without any of those guys on the 4×100, which is a great testament to the kind of quality depth that we have on this team.”
Landon Lewerke had a great discus event winning with a throw of 130-03 which was also a personal record.
“Landon always has a great attitude and works really hard at everything he does, so it’s great to see him have some big throws,” said coach Havens.
The Lions had a handful of top three finishes to push them ahead of the competition.
Titan Schmitt finished second in the 100 meter dash with a time of 11.5, just behind Aidan Skoda of Crestwood in a time of 11.3.
