Lion boys soccer reaches .500

The Clear Lake Lion soccer team put goals in the net last week against Iowa Falls-Alden and Garner-Hayfield-Ventura, totaling 12 goals between the two games.

The Lions were able to get back to a .500 record with the two wins to head into this week at 6-6.

Against the Cadets, the Lions were able to jump ahead early with three goals in the first period, while allowing only one.

The cushion allowed the Lions to breath but in the second half Clear Lake continued to find openings against Iowa Falls-Alden with four more. The Cadets scored one more in the second.

Adrian Ros, a Clear Lake junior, scored four goals for the Lions to lead the team, while Andrew Korenberg scored two and Kinnick Clabaugh found the net once.

Caleb Hall had nine saves on the night, while allowing two goals to the Cadets.

The Lions moved to 6-6 on the season with a win against the Garner-Hayfield-Ventura Cardinals on Thursday, May 2, blanking the neighboring team 6-0.

Clear Lake scored four in the first half before adding two more for good measure in the second.

Ros found his way to two goals, with the rest  being spread around the team.

Korenberg, Clabaugh, Weston Conway and Reece Wharton each had one goal.

Hall was back in the goal and had five saves on the night.
