The Clear Lake Lion girls soccer team advanced in regionals with a victory over New Hampton on Monday, May 13, but the season came to an end against a tough, 13-1 Garner-Hayfield-Ventura Cardinals team on Wednesday, May 15.

The Lion girls kept it close against the Cardinals Wednesday, but ended the season 7-10 after the Cardinals scored two and kept the Lions out of the net.
The Lions were able to find six shots on goal, with four coming off the foot of junior Addison Jones and two from sophomore Addie Cooper.
The Lions had nine shots altogether, as Jones had six and Cooper had three.
Rowan O’Keefe, the Lion goalie stayed busy with 20 saves on the night, but two were able to get through, a valiant effort that ended in a 90.9 percent effectiveness.
The Cardinals, on the other hand, had 18 shots on goal with 32 shots in all with one goal from Jenna Pringnitz and one from Bella Schisel.
The Lion girls will graduate four seniors in Madi Moore, Perla Velasquez, Ella Ollenburg and Amaya Bahnsen.
