Police report Shooting on North Shore Drive

UPDATE – July 10, 2024

 

On July 10, around 2pm Dylan J. Mitchell was arrested by the Hancock County Sheriffs Office in

rural Hancock County. Mitchell was transported to the Cerro Gordo County Jail where he is
being held waiting arraignment.

 

UPDATE – July 9, 2024

 

The Clear Lake Police Department has obtained arrest warrants for Dylan J.

Mitchell (32) of Mason City, Iowa for two counts of Intimidation with a Dangerous Weapon.
The charges stem from a June 27, drive-by-shooting incident in Clear Lake which occurred in the 500
block of North Shore Drive.
Clear Lake officers diligently investigated the incident and were able to link Mitchell to the incident
through both video and physical evidence.
There were no reported injuries when officers arrived.
Clear Lake officer continue to investigate the shooting and are looking asking for the public’s help in
locating Mitchell. If you have any information on Mitchell’s location, have information about this

We believe this to be an isolated incident.
A criminal charge is merely an accusation. The defendant is presumed innocent unless proven
guilty in a court of law.

 

ORIGINAL PRESS RELEASE:

 

On June 27, just before midnight, Clear Lake police officers were dispatched to a reported drive-by‐shooting in the 500 block of North Shore Drive.

Officers located evidence that multiple shots had been fired from a moving vehicle toward a specific residence in the area. There were no reported injuries and the suspect was not in the area when officers arrived.

CLPD believes this to be an isolated incident and that there is no threat to the general public.
