Saluting the military

Friday’s home football game was designated as Military Appreciation Night to honor servicemen and women who have and continue to serve our country. Honorary Captains were named from visiting Crestwood, as well as Clear Lake. Matt Fisher and Nate DiCamillo were Clear Lake’s honorary captains. DiCamillo, a staff sergeant in the U.S. Army, is currently serving and could not be present, but Fisher (pictured above left) who served in the Army and Iowa National Guard, joined football captains Alex Brcka, Zeke Nelson, Ben Loge and Hayden Rieck at center field before the start of the game.   Fisher’s son, Ty, played football for the Lions and graduated in 2021. Daughter, Megan, is a sophomore and has been a football Lion Tamer for two years. Son, Kenny, is in the eighth grade and plays on the middle school football team. Clear Lake cheerleaders were also assisted at the game by local youngsters who participated in a clinic in preparation for the big night.
