More masks from Vicki Parrott

Vicki Parrott is a sewing wiz.  She’s made everything from baby bibs, to complicated quilts, and everything in between.  So when there was something she could sew that would help those on the front lines of fighting COVID-19, she stepped in without hesitation.

She has spent approximately the past four weeks in front of her sewing machine, doing what she loves, but loving more the knowledge that she is able to help keep people safe because of the face masks she is making.  So far she’s made 500, and she’s still sewing.

“I’ve given them to my daughters in Fort Dodge, as well as sent them to Des Moines, Missouri, Florida, Arizona, California and to a lot of people in Eagle Grove and Cherokee, and Webster City,” said Parrott modestly.

If you know Vicki, you know her love of sewing means she has a variety of fabric on hand that she has willingly donated to the cause.  Helping by adding extra material to her stash have been her daughter as well as Eagle Grove local Matt Jergens.

After being ill herself for the past couple of years, Parrott said she has appreciated all the help she has gotten from others.  She is happy that she can now pay it forward.

“This is just my way of giving back to the community and nursing staff,” concluded Parrott.
