Renwick-Hardy-Vernon (RHV) Monument Memorial Day program

The Covid-19 pandemic has been worse and extended longer than anyone had expected. The Renwick-Hardy-Vernon (RHV) Monument board has decided to postpone the usual Memorial Day program honoring our veterans. We had an extensive program lined up for this year but feel people will be apprehensive about gathering this soon after the Governor has tried to open up the state. Therefore we have postponed our Memorial Day program until July 4, 2020 at 10 a.m.

We still feel it is very important to honor our veterans somehow someway on Memorial Day so we will try to gather a firing squad to give the 21 gun salute and taps on Memorial Day at 10 a.m. at the memorial site. You are definitely welcome and encouraged to attend and if you wish to stay in your cars or stand by your cars on Memorial Day, that will be just fine.

Over this past year the foundation board has changed because of deaths and/or retirements. New members on the foundation board are Larry Meyers, and Jan Bast, Treasurer. Other current board members are Bernie Nelson, Hal Skiye, Renae Anliker, Secretary, and Harold Trask, President. We are continuing this year to do the flower pots and appreciate those donor. We also continue to upkeep the monument and the grounds and definitely appreciate all of your donations. We truly hope everyone will stay safe and healthy and will understand and appreciate the changes we are making for this Memorial Day. Please continue to honor our fallen veterans in your own way on this special holiday.
