El Valle La Tienda Mexicana is not new to Eagle Grove, but they now have a brand new store and they are excited to announce that as of Friday, July 17, the doors are open to the public.
El Valle La Tienda Mexicana opened the doors to their first Mexican Grocery Store in Eagle Grove about eight years ago at 114 W. Broadway, according to Manager Jaime Venegas. They offered a wide variety of Mexican along with some American foods. They also had a selection of gifts, candles and even some clothing items.
“The Hispanic population is growing,” said Venegas about the store outgrowing its old space and deciding to open the new, store. “This gives us more room,” he said of the new grocery store located in the old AMI storage building (next to the AMI office building whose address is 99 W. Broadway). Some may even remember a couple of decades ago when it originally served as a SuperValu Grocery Store.
Venegas said after the decision was made to purchase the old AMI building and go ahead with the new store, the team worked “step-by-step” over a long 14 months to turn it into something not only they would be proud of, but the community as well.
“We have a big selection now offering more Central America products, but of course, we still have our customer favorites,” he said. Their truly is something for everyone in this new grocery store in Eagle Grove. The first thing you’re likely to notice as you walk into this bright and clean new store is the fun music playing over the intercom. It will fill you with energy as you look through their options that include chips of all kinds, drinks, birthday cakes in the coolers, dessert cups, baked goods, meat, fresh fruits and vegetables, canned goods, hygiene care items, kitchen utensils and goods, and the list goes on.
In about three weeks, you’ll also be able to find take and eat fresh meals from their “To Go” buffet.
“It will be filled with Mexican favorites like tacos and burritos,” said Venegas.
He would also like to remind the community that their old location is now closed, so to please stop by and see their new and improved store.
“We welcome everyone to come and enjoy our Mexican Candy and all of our other great things,” he concluded.
El Valle La Tienda Mexicana is open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. – 9 p.m. and on Sundays from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
