The Wright County Charitable Foundation (WCCF) recently held their fall grant cycle. Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic it was not possible to hold the traditional grant ceremony as in years past, instead grant recipients were notified of awards by mail. The Wright County Charitable Foundation is proud to have supported 16 projects with this round of awards with a total of $37,640 granted to worthy Wright County causes and projects. Since the first granting period in Spring 2006, the Wright County Charitable Foundation has granted $1,221,884.00.
The WCCF Grant Committee reviews each grant application thoroughly to determine need and benefit to the citizens of Wright County. Grant recommendations are made and approved by the committee. With the current pandemic, the needs of Wright County have risen drastically. Earlier this year the Wright County Charitable Foundation announced the establishment the Disaster Recovery Fund (DRF) to support the populations most negatively impacted by COVID-19. All applications received between September 14th and October 23rd, were automatically eligible and reviewed to see if they qualified for a grant from this recovery fund.
Wright County Economic Development (WCED) assists with the administration and disbursement of grants for WCCF. Grant applications for future grant cycles along with grant guidelines can be obtained online at the county’s web site, http://www.wrightcounty.org.
