A Go Fund Me account has been set up by the Iowa Falls High School Class of 1989 for the family of Wayne Smith, the man who was fatally stabbed at Prestage Foods on Tuesday, Feb. 16, 2021.
In an email, Kristin Cleveland described Smith as “a kind, quiet and generous person who was simply at the wrong place at the wrong time.” She added that he was kind-hearted, shy but talkative, sweet and would help anyone in need. He cared deeply for family and friends and he had a gentle way about him that everyone appreciated. He mattered and he was loved.”
All proceeds will go to ease the cost of the funeral on his sister, Fern.
As of Monday noon, more than $5,500 had already been raised.
