Council approves vacating several former public streets

In four separate items, the Eagle Grove City Council this past Monday vacated then conveyed two former street locations. Those included Seventh Street Northwest in Block 15 and 11th Street Northwest in Block 42, both in Wright’s Third Addition. 

Following a presentation from Daybreak Foods on their upcoming project, the Council set a public hearing for the June 7 council meeting to consider a voluntary annexation application for the parcel of land they will use. It will also require amending the zoning classification to Industrial I-1 (Watch for a story on this project in a future edition of the Eagle).

In other action the Council:

-approved a budget amendment for the 20-21 fiscal year;

-approved a resolution of support for a workforce housing tax credit application;

-following a public hearing, approved the disposing of City-owned property in the Rotary Addition. This now allows for the sale of the 12 lots to proceed;

-approved the fee and wage schedule for the upcoming season at the Aquatic Center;

-approved a building permit for Blanche Bosteder (fence);

-approved a Class C beer/liquor/wine license for El Jalapeno and a Class E license for El Valle Tienda.
