Daybreak Foods, Inc. announces the addition of a new processing plant in Eagle Grove

May 25th, 2021 EAGLE GROVE, IA- Daybreak Foods, Inc. is excited to announce the addition of a new processing plant in Eagle Grove, Iowa. The groundbreaking ceremony will take place today at 11:30 a.m. at the new location on the north side of Eagle Grove. The facility will be constructed to the latest state-of-the-art food plant standards and be equipped with the latest processing line technology to provide a safe and wholesome product to our customers.

“As Daybreak Foods transitions some of its laying hens to cage-free, the need to process the eggs from these chickens has presented an opportunity to construct a processing plant that aligns nicely with the needs of our customers,” commented Rick Roedl, Daybreak Foods Capital Projects Manager. “The new facility will provide a separate bio-secure food processing operation, giving both our company and customers more flexibility, efficiency, capability and food security. Phase I of operations will begin by employing 10-18 talented team members with plans to expand into other processes in Phase II and III as customer’s needs grow,” said Roedl. The city officials of Eagle Grove, in conjunction with Wright County, have stepped up to the plate to end a site search that started back in early 2020. “We looked at more than half a dozen locations within a sixty-mile radius to land this new operation at a site that was beneficial to the city, the community, as well as Daybreak Foods and our customers. Infrastructure, geography, available building sites and the strength of the community, were all priorities in the site selection decision”, continued Mr. Roedl.

“The city officials and administrative team of Eagle Grove wasted no time to not only tell us how they could help us, they proved it in a well thought-out and swift plan. Our hats go off to the elected officials and city administration of Eagle Grove for bringing us to our newest home! We look forward to being an intimate and responsible corporate partner with Eagle Grove,” shares Roedl.
