This week’s featured alumni is a 2012 graduate of Eagle Grove High School who said he always knew he wanted to come back to Eagle Grove after college.
While attending Iowa State University pursuing a degree in Agricultural Business, Aaron Wagner said he wasn’t exactly sure what he wanted to do for a job. But when an internship opportunity presented itself at First Bank back as Ag and Business Banker back in his hometown during his junior year in college, he “jumped on it.”
After graduating from ISU in December of 2015, Wagner was excited to accept a full-time position with the company he had interned for, allowing him to follow his dream of coming back home.
“I always knew that I wanted to come back to Eagle Grove so I could be close to the family farm,” Wagner said. Finding a job that was flexible during planting and harvest, as well as being close to home, was important to me.”
Wagner loves being back in Eagle Grove to both live and work for one main reason – the people.
“ It’s nice to live in a small town because you know most of the community and we have a lot of good people here,” he said. “There are just a lot of honest, hard-working people in our community that are all for supporting each other.”
Watch for our next EGHS alumni feature in the June 17 edition of the Eagle Grove Eagle.
