Papers may be taken out starting next Monday for candidates running in the City Election. Stop in at City Hall if you are interested. They must be returned no later than 5 p.m. on Thursday, September 16, and will be delivered to the Auditor’s office by noon the following day. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, November 2. If a runoff is necessary for any of the contested seats, that will be held on Tuesday, November 30. The winners will take their seats at the January 2022 meeting.
Up for reelection this year, should they choose to run, are Mayor Sandra McGrath, Ward 2 Council member Matt Jergens, Ward 4 Council member Sonya Middleton and At-Large Council member Josh Schild. The Mayor’s term is two years, with the rest being four-year terms. Contact City Hall with any questions concerning eligibility.
