A letter was reviewed and placed on record from Summit Carbon Solutions regarding their upcoming project in Wright County. The project will capture CO2 emissions that otherwise would be emitted into the atmosphere from ethanol plants, such as Corn LP, compress the captured emissions, and transport through a pipeline to North Dakota where they will be permanently and safely stored underground in deep geologic storage locations. Besides Wright, 29 other Iowa counties plus communities in four surrounding states are included for a goal of capture and storage of up to 12 million tons of emissions per year. An informational meeting will be held October 13 at noon at Heartland Museum in Clarion.
An Iowa DOT agreement was approved for maintenance and repair of primary roads considered to be within municipalities. The agreement covers both curbed and uncurbed private highways, city streets crossing right of way and curbed and uncurbed primary highways.
