“To succeed in life is to leave your community a little better than you found it.”
That’s the motto for Our Foundation for the Future, a non-profit organization who dedicates themselves to the betterment of local communities such as Eagle Grove, Thor, Vincent, and Woolstock. The Foundation contains a board of keen community leaders who invest their time and efforts into this tax-exempt organization, without receiving any sort of compensation. Acting as a recipient of gifts, individuals and businesses can promote a progressive community for both the present and future in any amount they wish. By supporting these local communities, the Foundation provides funds for projects that cannot be funded by taxes, bond issues, or assessments. The Foundation works by the many different ways gifts can be processed, such as donors making gifts, devises, or even bequests with directions and restrictions as to use, timing, etc. Living gifts can also be used as an itemized deduction on one’s income tax, although classified as a charitable organization, the Foundation’s income is exempt from federal and state taxes.The Foundation welcomes any individual with ideas for projects to support communities and help further beautify where people call home.
Allbaugh Award applications must be turned in on or before December 15, 2021. Entries need to be typed, or neatly printed with justifiable cause for your nomination of anyone residing in or contributing to the welfare of the greater Eagle Grove area. The applications can be submitted to the Chamber of Commerce at 212 West Broadway, P.O. Box 2, Eagle Grove, IA 50533, or emailed to Kurt@homelandiowa.com.
