Losing one game is one thing. Losing back-to-back, with a result worse than the first…that’s when it stings.
Forest City Indians stunned the Eagle Grove Eagles Tuesday night as they snatched onto their wings and denied their aim to fly for a win. The Eagles, who lost 53-27 against rivals CGD Cowgirls, were hoping for a win against Forest City’s Indians, leveling their record. Instead, the Eagles are down two games to start off their season.
Both teams experienced a sloppy start as the first quarter nearly came to an end with five points scored by both teams combined. The Indians caught their stride after a major defensive change helped them increase their lead by seven points, as they ended the first quarter with 12 points, and then 19 in the second. Delivering more than half of the points for the Eagles was SO Nadia Kaiser, as she scored 12.
But like anything new, the ups and downs are faced-the great times and the hard times. For as young and new as a team they currently are, the Eagles have the potential currently to equip themselves with more experience and knowledge. The Eagles will be seeking revenge next time around when they host Forest City. However, first, their most important matchup will be Friday, December 3, when they host West Hancock at 6:15 PM.
