The Eagles hosted conference competitors, and undefeated with a current 16-0 record, Lake Mills Bulldogs Tuesday night. Losing by 50 points last time around, the Eagles lost Monday night’s game 79-21–58 points behind this time. Though the match proved its difficulty for the Eagles, the Eagle boys stuck through the game with their Eagle Grove grit.
The first quarter saw what felt like an unleashing start from the Bulldogs as they slammed 25 points over the Eagles. The Eagles held strong, adding four points to the opening quarter of the match. In the second quarter, the Eagles doubled their points, scoring eight while letting up a whopping 24 points. As half-time arrived, the score rested at 49-12 with the Bulldogs possessing a comfortable lead.
The third quarter saw a weak start to the second half from both teams. Scoring nine points less than they did when opening the first half, the Bulldogs added 16 points to the scoreboard. Meanwhile, the Eagles only managed to secure two points in the first eight minutes of the second half. As the final quarter came around, the Eagles added seven points to their score, finishing the match with 21. The fourth quarter also saw the least amount of points scored by the Bulldogs as they finished off the Eagles with 14.
The match ended 79-21 with the Eagles losing their second game to the Bulldogs this season. Striking back after a challenging battle with the Bulldogs, the Eagles hosted the North Union Warriors on Tuesday, February 1 at 7:45 PM.
