It was 63-34 last time these two conference rivals faced each other. This time around, though another win came from the Bulldogs, the Eagles lost by 25 points rather than 30.
The first quarter opened with the Eagles in a slightly close race versus the Bulldogs. The Bulldogs scored 16 points over the Eagles to open up the classic matchup. Only eight points behind, the Eagles charged through the first quarter scoring eight points. The second quarter held potential for the Eagles to respond with a dominant performance and claim the lead over the Bulldogs…however there was no major response. Instead, the Bulldogs continued their dominance over the Eagles adding 13 points over the Eagles with the Eagles only scoring three. The first half came to an end with a 29-11 lead for the Bulldogs.
As the second half approached, the Eagles secured more points than the first half while the Bulldogs scored less. The Bulldogs still scored more points than the Eagles, however, as they added 11 over the Eagles who scored six. The final eight minutes of the match saw another 11 points from the Bulldogs. Meanwhile, the Eagles secured the most points during the final quarter as they finished the match with nine points added to their score. The game then ended 51-26 with the Bulldogs on top.
Though the Eagles conceded yet another loss from the Bulldogs this season, the Eagle girls turned their attention to their next matchup, which was set for Monday, February 1, at 6:15 PM.
