Eagle girls denied by Dike-NH

Following their victory over the Ogden Bulldogs, the Eagles faced the Wolverines last Tuesday night. The girls were bested by the Wolverines, as they were crushed 77-8, rejecting them a spot in the semi-final.
From tip-off, to the final buzzer, the Wolverines wreaked havoc over the eager Eagles. Scoring 36 points right in the first quarter, the Wolverines were already up by 34 points as the Eagles scored two points in the first eight minutes.

As the game went on, the Wolverines’ offense declined, while the Eagles offense struggled to improve as they were bested by the Wolverines throughout the entirety of the match. The Eagles, again, scored two points in the second quarter, though conceded 16 points from the Wolverines.

The third quarter saw three less points scored by the Wolverines as the Eagles added two more points to their score. Scoring 13 points, the Wolverines were up 65-6.

As the game came to a close in the fourth quarter, the Eagle girls were haunted by the limit of two points scored yet again, as they scored two to finish the game with a total of eight points. The Wolverines scored 12 points to end the game, as they denied the Eagles a spot in the semi-final with a crushing defeat of 77-8.

There were no seniors on the Eagles roster, and perhaps this season can be viewed as a learning season for the Eagle girls when they prepare for the future and improve their skills from their experience.

Game stats were not available before press time.
