County redistricting finalized with half of precincts for Eagle Grove

Following the Redistricting Plan set out by the Wright County Board of Supervisors in 2021, Wright County voting precincts have been finalized and announced as of April 4th. There are ten precincts in total in the county, four of which – the 7th, 8th, 9th, and 10th – are in Eagle Grove. And yet another is for the rural area surrounding the city. This puts fully half the county's precincts in some relation to Eagle Grove, which could get confusing for locals.

The county's 7th Precinct is entitled "EG Ward #1", and consists of Eagle Grove's first ward. The remaining three precincts follow the same pattern, with Precincts 8 through 10 consisting of the city's 2nd through 4th wards, respectively. So Ward 1 residents vote in Precinct 7, Ward 2 residents vote in Precinct 8, Ward 3 residents vote in Precinct 9, and Ward 4 residents vote in Precinct 10. While residents of the Township just outside the city limits, and in the Town of Troy vote in Precinct 6.

The 6th Precinct, called "Rural Eagle Grove", covers the Township of Eagle Grove – not to be confused with the incorporated City of Eagle Grove – as well as the township of Troy.

The 5th Precinct is called "Goldfield" and consists of the incorporated city of Goldfield, which shares law enforcement and emergency services with Eagle Grove, as well as all of the Boone and Liberty Townships.

The 4th Precinct is titled "Dows" and aside from that portion of the city of Dows incorporated within Wright County, also includes all of the Lincoln, Blaine, Woolstock, Wall Lake, and Vernon Townships, and the incorporated area of the City of Galt.

The 2nd Precinct is called "Clarion", and consists of the incorporated city of Clarion. While the 3rd Precinct is called "Rural Clarion" and consists of the unincorporated areas surrounding the city of Clarion, which are Norway, Lake, Grant, and Dayton.

The 1st Precinct is called "Belmond" and aside from the city of Belmond also includes the townships of Pleasant and Iowa, as well as the city of Rowan.

Voting locations are yet to be announced.
