Feske smashes school record in 100 meter dash, headed to Drake Relays

Eagle Grove girl’s track sprinter Ayden Feske broke the school record in the 100 meter dash at the track meet on Thursday, the 2st, in Webster City. Feske smashed the old school record of 12.66 in the 100 meter dash, dashing to a new record of 12.50 seconds.

And in so doing, she also qualified for the Drake Relays at Drake University Stadium in Des Moines, this coming weekend. Seeded 11th out of all the classes in the state, Feske is scheduled to run Friday, April 29th. Her preliminary run for the 100 meter dash at Drake will be at 8:30 am. Finals will be run the same day, at 2:30 pm.

Of Ayden’s achievement, coach Andy Ettinger said, “she has worked very hard to accomplish this goal.” A sentiment which he echoed in a post to Facebook, “she has worked hard for this and has earned it!”

Tickets are sold in sessions. Tickets for Friday’s day session, when Feske will run, start at $35. They can be bought online at draketix.com/drakerelays – though fans age 2 and under can attend for free.
