In regular conference Saturday morning play hosted by the West Hancock Eagles, the Eagle Grove Eagles slugged their way to a brutal beatdown of a demoralized West Hancock team. Having just handed the West Hancock girls a solid defeat in a match saved up from a rainy day, the Eagle Grove ladies piled on the pain and whalloped West Hancock even harder in the second contest.
For the first 4 innings Eagle Grove’s gals commanded the diamond, swatting hard and running past the home plate over and over again. 3 runs in the 1st. 6 in the 2nd. 4 in the 3rd. 5 in the fourth. Meanwhile West Hancock got around the diamond once in the 2nd and 3rd each.
From there out it was a zero sum game with neither side putting anything up or letting their opponents do so either. And the Eagle Grove gals iced the cake on a morning of commanding performances and decisive victories with a 2nd win over West Hancock by an even wider lead, this time 18 to 2.
