On a sunny Saturday morning the Eagle Grove Eagles took on the West Hancock Eagles to finish up a game suspended in its third inning for rain days earlier.
Eagle Grove had the momentum from the start, having put 4 on the scoreboard in the first inning of the first day of play. And by the time the 3rd inning was completed, West Hancock had put 4 of their own up, but Eagle Grove had put up another 6.
In the 4th inning, West Hancock couldn’t get back on the board. But Eagle Grove could in spades, notching another 5 to put West Hancock at a serious halfway disadvantage.
Going into the 5th Eagle Grove was up 11 with a 15 to 4 score, and it didn’t look so good for West Hancock at all. But that didn’t mean they weren’t in the game. But although they managed to put one more on the board in the 5th, and hold Eagle Grove off from scoring again, they couldn’t get back on the board in the 6th or 7th either. Giving the Eagle Grove girls a powerhouse 15 to 5 victory.
