Among the fun activities planned for this year's Summerfest was the "yarn bombing" of trees. Which is to say, decorating them, not destructively. And ideally, involving some yarn. And there was a lot of creativity on display, with the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners of a popular vote standing to win chamber bucks.
Of everyone who set out to win some chamber bucks, no one was more dedicated than young Daniel Hovland, who allowed his siblings, Emily, Jessica, and Ronald Hovland, and their friend Lydia Baluczynski to literally tie him to a tree, wrapping him thoroughly in yarn. Fastening him to the trunk like a scene from Gulliver's travels. Until, that is, they unraveled him. Which, of course, was on the condition that if they win, he gets the prize money.
